On the Issues
- Creating Jobs
We will continue to work on expanding our economic base so all of our citizens can enjoy high paying jobs without leaving the city. Building on our HEAT initiative, we will focus on our areas of strength; Healthcare, Education, Aerospace, and Tourism.
- Ensuring Mesa is Safe
We have completely restructured the many aspects of our city government while balancing the budget. We have been able to do this while making our public safety departments more efficient and quicker to respond to emergencies. We have built 4 new fire stations and will be building a new police station to meet the growing needs of our community.
- Regional Leader
"Building a Better Mesa" does not mean that we only look within our own borders for change. We must work with our neighbors as a region on common issues such as transportation and infrastructure planning and development.
- Expanding Education
We recently announced that Benedictine University would be opening a campus in Downtown Mesa. This is the just the first university of many more that we are confident will be a part of Mesa. Building on the successes of ASU Polytechnic, AT Still University, and Mesa Community College is crucial to Building a Better Mesa.
